Job Summary:
As an Environment Artist, you will be responsible for designing, modeling, texturing, and rendering 3D environments for. You will work closely with the art team, designers, and technical artists to create immersive and visually stunning worlds that support visual storytelling. Your work will ensure that all environments are cohesive and visually aligned with the overall aesthetic of the project.
Responsibilities:
- Environment Design: Create environments, including landscapes, architecture, props, and natural elements, based on the creative direction provided by the Art Director and/or the VFX/CG Supervisor.
- 3D Modeling: Build high and low poly models for environments, props, and structures using industry-standard 3D modeling software (Maya, ZBrush, Speed tree, Blender etd.,).
- Texturing: Apply textures to 3D models using tools like Photoshop, Substance Painter, Mari.. etc.,)
- Lighting & Composition: Implement lighting setups for environments, ensuring appropriate mood and atmosphere while maintaining performance optimization.
- World-Building: Assist in creating detailed and immersive worlds, considering aspects like scale, perspective, layout, and narrative context.
- Asset Integration: Integrate and implement assets into the game engine, ensuring correct scale, placement, and functionality.
- Maintain Art Quality: Ensure that art assets are polished and meet the required visual quality, technical specifications, and performance targets.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong Artistic Skills: Proficiency in traditional art fundamentals (e.g., composition, lighting, color theory) and a strong understanding of visual storytelling.
- 3D Software Proficiency: Experience with industry-standard 3D modeling, and texturing software (e.g., Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Photoshop).
- Attention to Detail: Strong eye for detail, able to create environments that are both beautiful and functional.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical and creative challenges, balancing visual fidelity with performance constraints.
- Collaboration: Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with CG lead, VFX/CG Supervisors, and other artists.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio that demonstrates previous work in 3D environments, assets, specific to speedtree work.
